What are CrossFit Games ?

The CrossFit Games are new sport for Fittest athletes including intense fitness competition that defines the fittest man and women on the planet.
The Games became very popular and over 220,000 athletes signed up for the Open competition that include:
1. Five-week qualifying stage in which participants from all over the world submit their scores online)
2. Around 2000 people advancing to regional competitions
3. And about 100 people compete in the final Games.
During the Games the overall fitness of the athletes is tested, rather than skills in a specific area. The athletes are challenged to a number of workouts that are kept secret until right before the event. Great examples of such activities are rough water swim to a pegboard climb.
Additional examples are 5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups, and 10 burpees with as many repetitions as possible in a given amount of time. Or, 15 sit-ups, 10 deadlifts, and run 100 meters. The main challenge is to do a variety of workouts and become as fit as possible.
The pure strength of these athletes, plus the excitement of the unknown, make this a supercharged spectator of CrossFit Games sport.
